Leg day today was simple. Like I said before my time has been short for workouts and my energy has been waaaaay low. This past week I took a couple days off working out and when I was in the gym, they were light weight movements or circuits. Today was the first day I felt close to normal again and thought, how about some hypertrophy work? (Don’t mind my little note where I called myself out 😂😅)

TIP TUESDAY: The lunge!! A staple of a gym-junkie’s #legdayroutine - HOWEVER, did you know you could modify the lunge so that specific muscles are targeted more than others? According to a study published in the Journal of Orthopedics and Sports Physical Therapy, “adjusting the trunk positioning during a lunge will in fact alter the muscle force output of the lower extremity.” For example, you will see in my first (poor quality) photo, my torso is flexed forward more compared to the second. According to the study, lower trunk flexion will increase the hip extensor moment and impulse forces in relation to a neutral trunk. Extension of the trunk promotes the same muscle activation of a neutral trunk.
So what this means for your workouts is how to incorporate lunges for your overall goal. For example, someone more quad dominant might want to try to isolate the hip extensors (Glutes and hammies) to promote hypertrophy or strength gain. They would perform their lunges with lower trunk flexion. On a quadricep/squatting day, there might be an opt in to neutral trunks lunges to further prompt the ‘burn out’ feel in those quads!

Muchos quieren crecer sus piernas pero no saben la forma correcta ni los ejercicios que deben hacer para incrementar su tamaño. .

Si deseas aumentar el tamaño de tus piernas tienes que tener unos ejercicios clave en tu entrenamiento y entrenar las piernas de 2 a 3 veces por semana a distintas intensidades. .
.
Esta es mi lista de ejercicios para incrementar el tamaño de las piernas.
1-Squat Barra
2-Leg Press
3-Steps en banco con dumbell
4-Leg extension
5-Deadlift
6-Sumo Deadlift
7-Sumo Squat Barra
8-Lunges con barra o dumbell

Con estos 8 ejercicios puedes tener variedad en tus entrenamientos y utilizar 3 de estos ejercicios para hacer 4 sets de cada uno. Las repeticiones serán de acuerdo a tu metodología de entrenamiento y tu nivel de fitness. Depende en que etapa de entrenamiento te encuentres es la cantidad de repeticiones que vas a hacer. Para personas que están comenzando les recomiendo que hagan 4x12-15 reps con al menos 48 horas de descanso para repetir la rutina. .

Mantén tu rutina en un range de 12-16 sets por rutina.
Entrena día 1 a baja intensidad, día 2 intensidad media y día 3 alta. Puedes hacer variaciones entre baja intensidad, media y alta pero nunca entrenes todos los dias alta intensidad sin bajarle por que puedes sobre-entrenar y lastimarte.
