It's been ten years now.
I photographed my first wedding on May 20, 2007 and it really has been a wild ten years. At the time, I had absolutely no ambition to get into wedding photography, but as I photographed more and more I grew to love them. I still do.
I've grown a ton as a person in the last ten years and I feel like it's really shown in my work. @blackwhiteandbrunette and I got engaged, got married, and had a baby within these ten years. It's been forming my values more and more in what I seek to capture in my work.
I'm realizing more and more that the really cool Instagram-worthy photos are still awesome, but the moments in between and the relationships I have the honor of documenting are what really matters most.
Crazy big thanks to all of the hundreds of people who have hired me this past decade. Being a photographer for a living is still a surreal thing to me and it wouldn't happen without awesome people giving me money to take photographs for them.
And big thanks to all of you who have ever liked, commented, or followed me on all of the various platforms I've participated on in the last ten years. It means a lot that many of you have recommended me to your friends and family.
Here's to the next ten. 🙌🏼
