The philosophy of retreat
Sometimes we must surrender to the consequence, whether it is a goodwill tactic or a temporary retreat or an opportunity to regroup. The key to survival, throughout all the ups and downs, is to live to fight another day.
In the business world, there are countless opportunities for you to either make yourself a martyr or to throw yourself on the sword. Sometimes these instances involve situations in which our values are put into question.
Designers often lose sight of what brings them value, and because of this, devalue what they so passionately bring to the table at no cost to everyone but themselves.
Recently we visited the work of Vo Trong Nghia Architects in Vietnam. A forward-thinking architect, making an impact on their local society. Even
for them, the first five or six years was just about convincing people that their work was different, and their ideas required support at every fundamental level. Their work and ideas have only been achieving the recognition and acknowledgement only very recently.
At the end of the day, it's only business and that the response must always be calculated and carefully executed. Things have a way of ending up fine.
Some opportunities are worth losing, some deservedly lost, and some are stolen away.
Remember that most of society is fighting the same fight. We're all frustrated from time to time, we're all dreaming of somehow getting a little
bit closer of achieving our own personal dreams. But we are all flawed, victims of our own humanity. There is no logic.
We just need to end each day knowing that we stood up for ourselves and the
things that matter most to us, relationships still intact and who knows, things have a way of working out..maybe not today, but just to return
another day.. Gambar metafora retreat naik sampan..😂 #greenroom136 #metromonger #blackisthenewblack #hanoi #votrongnghiaarchitects #throwbackwednesday
