So, today we did a walking following the levada till a place called "Caldeirao Verde" (Green Cauldron).
A levada is an irrigation channel or aqueduct specific to the Portuguese island of Madeira. They were created out of the necessity of bringing large amounts of water from the west and northwest of the island to the drier southeast, which is more conducive to habitation and agriculture.
After more than 18.000 steps and 12.5km, I can say that I feel tired but so so happy, because I think it was one of the most beautiful things I ever saw so far.
The video at end of this post shows the Green Cauldron with a huge waterfall that almost looked like it was coming from heaven since it was so foggy at the top.
