Fully in mode for the great south run. Longest run I have ever done 8.8 miles/14 kilometres. The last 5 k was really tough in the sun but its a nice feeling gaining those miles and knowing I only need to find one more. #greatsouthrun #roadtotenmiles #runlikeamum #thusmumruns #runnersofinstagram#

A boozy Saturday. Exhausted. Layed in bed for 3 hours convincing myself I should run. Waited until it was hotter than hell. Got lost. Sweat..a lot! 😥 Chafed (TMI?😂)...but I did it 👐🏃‍♀️ 40 mins. Done.

Running your own business, and being a single mum, can play havoc on getting any chance of a spare half hour to go running.
The last two months have been no exception. With one person short and the world and it’s mother wanting cake I have only managed about 4 runs.....not fab when wanting to run 10mile in October.
So while today wasn’t fast it was huge as I finally got out and ran 3miles. Things bode well for training to start in earnest at the end of the month. Now to get a couple of early morning runs in during the week!! #thisgirlcanrun #thisgirlcan #runnersofinstagram #womansrunningcommunity #instarunners #slowlybutsurely #c25k #10mileshereicome #greatsouthrun #parkinsons

As some of you may know I am running the Great South Run in October. So I don’t bore you all with my running rants I have decided to create a separate page to document my progress over the next few months.....call it a pictorial blog!!! If you fancy following head to @runlittlebeerun 😊🏃‍♀️ #thisgirlcan #thisgirlcanrun #runnersofinstagram #instarunners #womansrunningcommunity #greatsouthrun

Introduction time!!! I’m Melissa (aka Little Bee 🐝) and 6 years ago I was diagnosed with stressed related depression. This was something that I had been living with for a lot of my life but never knew. About 2 years ago I started running as a way to get out of the house and to use something positive to help my mind. Running isn’t easy, but then nor is depression, and the little achievements started to make me feel good!!! This is a picture of my dad and I. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a couple of years ago, a neurological condition which means that cells in the brain don’t work as they should. So last summer, when this picture was taken, I decided that I was going to run the Great South Run and raise money for @parkinsons.uk to use the thing that has helped me to help people like my dad.
This page isn’t going to be about the fastest times or the furthest distances, it’s just going to be me documenting my journey....warts and all....and hopefully proving that anyone can do this 😊

That was hard after playing 18 holes of golf! #running #greatsouthrun

Little Saturday morning jog for breakfast earning my bacon! Training for the @great_run great south has brought back a different type of fitness, I thought I couldn't do running anymore due to stamina and injuries but it turns out if you put your mind to something and have someone that helps you on the way you can.

Link in bio to donate to @macmillancancer if you can ☺️ Couldnt have got to this point as quickly without this one.
@hannahkchivers I can't wait to run along side you raising money for the people that made my grandad's last days comfortable and easier. He would be proud that his granson is punching above his weight with this fitty.

6yrs ago I had to pull out of the GSR due to my knee failing me, got told to avoid running but I am back and looking forward to another chance (and @katevnash will be there running it with me 😃) #greatsouthrun #feelinggood #betterstarttraining

HELP PLEASE!
Been for a run, Thursday’s are good as I don’t have to fit in the school run on Thursdays, Hallelujah! My aim is to get a run in early, especially before it gets too warm.
Did a 5k this morning but I don’t seem to be able to cope with summer running and always end up stopping a few times. Time is 32 mins from the stats and 7 mins of this was walking, ok 3 mins at beginning to warm up, but you get the picture.
Is it in my head or do people struggle more running over the summer months. I just know in the winter I can run better. I’m doing the GSR come October so want to get going with the training.
Would welcome any running tips please and your thoughts on how seasons affect your running. Thanks.
