This summer has been a constant exercise in making lemonade. A lot of plans were foiled. A lot of things went wrong. A lot of resources got wasted. I spent a good amount of time feeling helpless in the face of jobs not working out, an unexpected several months with all my earthly possessions packed away, and the planet’s worst Subaru.
BUT, this fall is shaping up to be a pretty exciting shift for myself and my career, I have a side hustle that allowed me to make decent money teaching online, and I had the (unexpected) time to take the slow routes from Montana, to West Virginia, and back to Michigan. I even got to spend a good chunk of the summer in my favorite place for the first time in years.
Summer 2018: unexpected, not all good, but with lots of silver linings and a healthy squeeze of time spent in Michigan’s upper peninsula. Not what I orders, but pretty damn good lemonade if I do say so myself 🤗
