Yesterday was a great day with a bit of a mishap. We got a rental mountain bike from Gateway Bikes in the village and went for a ride out to and around the Lost Lake. It was actually really nice to get out there, we had tried finding it in winter and hadn't been able to. Mya had lots of fun as usual chasing me and walking out into the water of the lake and creeks. I'm told there are some other great trails on the north west side of Alta Lake, but they are currently closed due to bear activity. Unfortunately for me on the way out to the bike trail Mya's lead got caught on my front brake, sending me flying over the handlebars and catching the bike on the way back through. My amazing physio back home will be glad to know that I saver the bike, but I think I subluxed my left shoulder and dislocated my left little finger, but we will be alright. It's ironic, I do some pretty adventurous stuff, but it's always the more basic moments that get me. Someone asked me yesterday for any good advice. Number one would be make sure you have good travel insurance. Another tip I have for Whistler is to do with eating out. The first time we came with Mya is was a real struggle to find places to eat having her. I think I've worked out the best places now and one of them I ate out at last night, The Beacon Pub & Eatery in Whistler Village. Although they don't have a dog friendly patio due to BC's health regulations, they do have a few tables that your pup can be just on the other side of you. I ate there again last night, the service was fantastic and I had a great steak which Mya may have gotten a bite of, when I accidentally dropped a slice on the ground. If you know any other good places to eat, please let me know.
We will be having a Whistler Meet & Greet on Thursday 20th September 2018 at 7pm in the lobby of the Aava Whistler Hotel. Please RSVP to the Facebook link in our story. If you know anyone who will be in Whistler this Thursday please tell them.
