“Oh the horror” is right.
Doing the inner work on yourself means digging up that which your psyche has buried because your ego mind could not deal with or process certain experiences when they happened. Or, when you had to bury a part of you to adjust to a long-term scenario—for example, when you have to live in a society where you’re almost forced to abandon your artistic/creative side for survival & basic necessities for living.
Nothing quite correlates with the pattern of the zombie or mummy coming back from the dead than the darker aspects of your mind thrusting themselves to forefront of your awareness, usually triggered by an external event.
When you hear the echoes of darkness from the graveyard of your mind, it’s time to confront those repressed traumas & memories—nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
You ever dealt with the horror/terror of unresolved adolescent issues? It’s a screamer! 😱
‘The Dark Side of the Inner Child’ by Stephen Wolinsky is a book recommendation of mine, if you’re asking “How?”
