Zalktis or Snake symbol has been around in Latvia since the Iron Age; most often it would be present in clothing, pottery and metal tools, as well on sauna equipment.
It represents and helps with the following:
Strengthens consciousness and balances your soul, positively affects your health, gives energy and brings blessings. If a child needs help with studies, it’s beneficial to keep this sign near his desk. On the other hand, wearing this sign on child’s clothes will help him grow wiser.
Even tho Snake is a highly praised, honored and loved sign, people still fear the creature while out in the woods or fields. For that our ancestors would devote a friendly rhyme when they enter the forest, saying it would keep snakes away. Even nowadays people would say the rhyme to have clear and peaceful passage. Rhyme would sound something like this; Sleep tight dear Snake, curled up in nine folds. Swamps and woods are yours, but fields are ours. Makes it less scary right ? 😉 Find this in BALTICA II pages, happy coloring ! #balticacoloringbook
