Andrew MacLean (@andrewmaclean) provides us with this cool piece of #fantasyart in this preview from issue #6 of the comic that he writes and illustrates, Head Lopper.
The comic series written and illustrated by Andrew and published by @imagecomics follows the adventures of Norgal, a Viking warrior with an impressively large beard and a penchant for expertly removing the cranium of his enemies with well placed sword blows, gaining him the name of "The Head Lopper." Admittedly, I am not entirely sure what is going on in this particular frame, but it really reminded me of old platformer videogames with expansive environments that allowed you to explore all the nooks and crannies of a fantasy world. I do wonder what may be beyond those vines... or where Mr. Jumping Exclamation Point in the top center point of the frame is leaping to. Wherever he's going, Andrew does a great job of simultaneously capturing the action of the jumping man (as if you're following right behind him as he leaps to impossible heights) while also providing us with a vivid, interesting, well-illustrated environment to get lost in. Love your work, Andrew! I may just have to go buy all of your comics now... Be sure to head over to Andrew MacLean's IG profile for more previews of comic frames, cover art, and just random bits of well drawn awesomeness. You might even catch a glimpse of Andrew's own massively impressive beard... if you can handle it... (A shout-out to @1800getatom for pointing me towards Andrew's awesome artwork. Thanks for the reference, good sir.)
