Homemade granola 😍😍
💕Honestly one of the easiest things to make and will save you so much money in the long run from buying it at supermarkets.
💕It's so easy to add it to or use it to top smoothies, smoothie bowls and overnight oats. Or you can simply have it with some milk, yoghurt and fruit for breakfast or as a snack.
💕The other photos are also another example of how to have granola. Simply layer it up with Greek yogurt and fruit, eat and enjoy for breakfast. Alternatively, this granola pot (can be eaten in a jar or bowl) is so easy to prepare the night before as you can leave it in the fridge overnight for a quick breakfast in the morning if you're on the go/ working. 💕This is the recipe for homemade granola:
INGREDIENTS -4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (use certified gluten-free oats for gluten-free granola)
-1 ½ cup raw nuts and/or seeds (I used sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds due to a nut allergy)
-1teaspoon fine-grain sea salt
-½ teaspoon cinnamon
-½ cup melted coconut oil or olive oil
-½ cup maple syrup or honey
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
optional additional mix-ins: goji berries, dried fruit, coconut shavings
-Preheat oven to 200c degrees (fan oven), line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, nuts and/or seeds, salt and cinnamon. Stir to blend
-Pour in the oil, maple syrup and/or honey and vanilla. Mix well, until every oat and nut is lightly coated. -Pour the granola onto your prepared pan and use a large spoon to spread it in an even layer. Bake until golden, about 21 to 23 minutes, stirring halfway. The granola will further crisp up as it cools.
-Let the granola cool completely, before breaking it into pieces and stirring in the optional mix-ins. -Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 to 2 weeks, or in a sealed freezer bag in the freezer for up to 3 months.
