Looking for a fun addition to the turkey 🦃 table tomorrow? We’ve been working on a cranberry sauce recipe for years. Every year it changes depending what we have on hand but it’s always fun to make and is devoured extremely quickly by all.
This year it turned out really well. Even though we went full on Macgyver mode in the kitchen (we didn’t realize we were out of sugar), it still turned out great. Below is the legitimate recipe, not the Macgyver mode sauce we made which involved a lot more booze, sugar cubes and even simple syrup😉🦃👍🏼. Had to get crafty this year. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
•4 bags of cranberries
•2 gala apples
•2 cups sugar
•2 oz Grand Marnier
•2 oz Triple Sec
•1 oz Calvados apple brandy
Rinse all cranberries. Add to water filled pot and bring to boil with lid on and wait til all cranberries pop. Drain 4/5 of liquid (also makes awesome cranberry juice if you keep it.) Put cranberries and remaining water on low/medium heat. Dice both apples. Fine zest skin of one orange. Dice orange. Add all to cranberry pot. Add grand marnier, triple sec, calvados and sugar. Reduce to desired consistency over low heat for a few hours with top off. Spread “Da Sauce” over all Thanksgiving food for best flavor!
