Y’all, I spent the last week with family in South Carolina in the Isle of Palms. It was amazing, beautiful and a much needed get away.

While I was there, I had a chance to review my Screen Time on my iPhone (it is a part of the new iOS update.) I am totally embarrassed to admit how much time I have been spending on me phone. Let’s just say it is shameful.

In my mind, I am not on my phone that frequently. But the numbers don’t lie.

.
I have made a promise to myself to be on my phone less and be present with those around me more. Here is what that looks like to me:

One hour MAX time on Instagram and Facebook for the day. Screen down time from 5:00 to 7:00pm when I am supposed to be evening with my family.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my IG family and interacting with you all. That will not change. What will change is my mindless scrolling and being on social media without intention. .

Have you checked your screen time with the new update? If so, did you like what you saw or was it just as scary as mine?

Sometimes it takes a while to figure out the best diffuser blend, but I think this time I’ve got it. Oh no, not for me, for my daughter....way too many nights with wake ups, until I started using this. My day of eating in pics......
Breakfast was 2 apples in the car
Lunch was ham, carrots, chicken tikka pieces and tomatoes
Afternoon snack was fruit and yogurt (strawberries, blueberries and grapes)
Had an apple around 5 before choir
Tea is homemade beef meatballs with peppers and onions with cabbage, green beans and carrots..........which I can eat when I've got my minion to sleep! I'm starving!

•• When are the TWO times it is ok to have naps one the go? ••

I recommend to all my families the majority of naps should be taken at home in a dark room conducive to sleep. But there are exceptions👇🏻

ONE - If you have to nap on-the-go and your child is on four or three-naps a day schedule, the last nap is always the best choice because it is the bridge to bedtime and has the least restorative value. .
.
.
TWO - If your child is one or two-naps a day schedule, I recommend all naps be at home, unless you are traveling. Both naps or the one nap has restorative value so we want to make sure they are getting as much rest as possible to avoid a late afternoon melt down!

So glad you asked! Here are the TWO best ways to handle weaning off night feeds.

ONE - Use a sleep training method. Pick a method you feel your family will be able to be most consistent with in the middle of the night and proceed from there.
.

.
TWO - Taper down on how much you feed at night. Either gradually lesson how much you are giving in a bottle or reduce the amount of time you nurse in the middle of the night. This is a more gentle approach than going cold turkey and using sleep training instead.
