Sometimes we search high and low for answers that are right in front of us. Take this spot in Johnson Canyon for example, one of the most famous Instagram spots likely out there. On our last day in Banff, we decided to make the visit. None of us knew where it was nor did we really look into it; after all, there's so many pictures of it online you'd imagine it's super easy to get to. Well, coming off a week of backpacking, our explorer senses were still tingling and we were looking all over the place for this thing. Climbing down sketchy embankments, attempting log crossings, wondering how deep the water is to attempt to ford it. All the while, completely perplexed how we couldn't find this spot. Ready to give up because we drank all of our remaining Caribou Crossing Whiskey at one of the many embankments we went down, we decided to give it a little longer. Next thing you know, we came up on a line of people breaking from the trail and making their way down to the shore; sure enough, we found the acorn looking rock in the most obvious of places.
