"They were of many breeds, but their common life had formed of them a certain type,- a lean wiry type, with trail-hardened muscles, and sun-browned faces, and untroubled souls which gazed frankly forth, clear-eyed and steady. They drove the dogs of the Queen, wrought dear in the hearts of her enemies, ate of her meagre fare, and were happy. They had seen life, and done deeds, and lived romances; but they did not know it." - Jack London on the Mounties, An Odyssey of the North
I have been enjoying some Northern literature lately; mostly Jack London. If you ever want to understand what life in the un-domesticated North was, read his works. I particularly love the way describes the people who lived here.
What are your thoughts on this quote?
Tomorrow we will be in Denali National Park. I'm considering making some videos of hikes. Anyone interested?
