Acne. What's to blame?
Hormones!!! Hormone make the oil glands produce more oil (sebum) and if a pore becomes blocked, the oil builds up and causes irritation. Bacteria multiply quickly in these blocked pores, which can make the redness, swelling and tenderness of pimples worse.
Effective treatments are available, but acne can be persistent. The pimples and bumps heal slowly, and when one begins to go away, others seem to crop up. For many women, acne can persist for decades, with flares common a week before menstruation.
Acne is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that causes whiteheads, blackheads, spots, pimples and cysts. Especially on the face, shoulders, back, neck, chest, and upper arms because they have the highest number of oil glands. And a range of factors triggers acne, but the main cause is thought to be a rise in hormone level, other factors include genetics, the menstrual cycle, anxiety and stress, hot and humid climates, using oil-based makeup foundation.
Facial can help, understand that you won't get amazing results, or clear skin, with just one treatment. As with any acne treatment, getting results from facial treatments takes time. To get the best results, you'll have to commit to a series of acne facials.
Typically, facials are scheduled once a week to once every other week. But you can't rely on facials alone to get your skin clear. To keep the benefits going, you'll need to be consistent with your acne treatment and skin care routine at home.
Here are some prevention and management tips for looking after skin that has acne or is prone to it, in my next post 😃
