I've been a Godzilla fan as far back as I can remember being a kid. My own father was as well, he didn't really know the name of any of the movies but on Saturday mornings he'd sometimes watch Monster Theatre with my brother and I @danielvilorio75 . Monster Theater aired all kaiju type films, Godzilla and Gamera being at the top of the list. This toy is the true 1st series Hand Painted 1977 Mattel Shogun Warriors Godzilla. I was three years old when it was made and probably 3 or 4 when I got this for Christmas. Godzilla back then was very popular among the kids in school and the neighborhood, there were Godzilla marathons on tv, as mentioned before Monster Theatre on Saturday morning and even a popular cartoon series named Godzilla as well! Oh yea, and Godzilla toys were plentiful!! Today, I'm a dad, even a grandad and my twin boys are the youngest of my five children. Not sure how much longer this old toy will be around but after going through hell and back, and all the different chapters of my eventful and sometimes crazy life, this Godzilla toy would not exist if it were not for my own father ( God rest his soul ). So many times I told him dad get rid of that old thing, it's just taking up space in that corner. He would tell me, "Nope" leave Godzilla alone, one day you'll want it back! " He kept it till he got sick and could no longer care for himself. Sure enough, he was right, I did take it back and treasure it today. This Godzilla along with all things Godzilla hold a special place in my heart. It brings the joy and memories of my childhood, my dad, and also I now get to share all of that with my own sons.
