I have been thinking about the children’s story, from last Sunday at church, all week. The reverend held a pack of sunflower seeds in his hand and said “when I was a child I hated ripping this beautiful package to put these seeds in the dirt, but if the seeds were ever going to turn into a beautiful flower like the one on the package, they needed to be in the dirt, they needed to be in the dirt if they were ever going to change into something wonderful and something that could produce more”. .
I am in the dirt in some areas in my life. Places where I need God’s light and nourishment to change me so that my circumstances can change and I can move out of the dirt. My circumstances won’t change unless I change. I am grateful for the dirt and the growing phases in my life though because those places are also where I grow closer to God and learn my greatest lessons. This change makes me more beautiful and when I have hit full bloom in an area, I produce seeds, just like the sunflower. The dirt is dark and cold and uncomfortable but I won’t be there forever. I’m working on letting God’s light change me.
Isaiah 43:19 “See, I’m doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” #growing #godslight #proverbs31woman #sundayschool #sundayschoollesson #canadianblogger #saltoftheearth #followerofchrist #christian #instablogger #instaoutfit #lifelessons #lifeisbeautiful #friday #fashionfriday #winterfashion #styleblogger #lifestyleblogger #canadianstyle #sarnia #slont #dtsarnia #blogger #bloggingmom #prayer #talkswithgod
