Anticipation... The look on our son, Carmine's face, when we pick him up these days- especially in the mornings.
Some weeks ago, I stumbled on a pastime that he's become deeply fond of. He craves it, like rats crave cheese and sweettooths crave chocolate.
Once we carry him these days, he props himself for the routine.
He gazes into our eyes with a peculiar "I am ready for it... Oya do it now" look.
"Lift me up the way I like more", he says in fluent body language.
He's set for his early morning prayer and playing session.
Until, we oblige...
Then he participates.
Once he's engaged, he smiles so brightly and heartily. His joy becomes palpable. His smile makes us smile... And sometimes, laugh.
Often, we sing to him- songs we
This reminds me of our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
He delights in holding us, hugging us, helping us up.
He wants us to approach him boldly with eager anticipation.
He has no evil intentions.
No. Not even one.
His motives are pure.
His methods are perfect.
He won't lift us, then leave us hanging or lest us down after helping us up.
He brings.. everything we need to become like Him and grow into His likeness. "The Lord your God is in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."
And the more we look at Him,
The more we begin to look like Him.
The more were able to live like Him.
The more we begin to live for Him.
Then, our lives become an ever-flowing stream of testimonies.
