This is the setlist from the @feederofficial gig at the Manchester Academy from Saturday just gone.
I have been going to see Feeder live for coming up to 10 years now, (whaaat!?!) first time was in 2008 whilst I was in college. Asked my tutor if I could take a half day as I had gotten standing tickets to see them at the Apollo on the Silent Cry tour and I wanted to get to the front ( was nervous of getting leathered in the pit, this was my first standing gig!) he said yes and off I went to spend six hours stood outside with my mate Mark, practically on our own. Taka came out of the bus and said 'Hi' followed with 'You're way too early, why are you stood here?' we told him we wanted to get to the barrier, and his laugh told us we were pretty safe 😅
What. A. Gig.
10 years later and I've left college, finished Uni, met my partner of just gone 8 years @jessicaneko89 taken our dream holiday to Japan and we are now buying our first home together, and all along the way, Feeder have been the soundtrack. From being 13 and let loose in Borders with £20 one weekend to buy CD's, I grabbed Polythene, Swim and Yesterday Went Too Soon. First notes of 'Polythene Girl' through the haunting intro of 'Descend' and the screaming lyrics of 'My Perfect Day ("Don't fade away...") and I have been hooked ever since.
This Saturday felt like the culmination of all that. As the opening riff of My Perfect Day strummed into life, I thought back to when I first discovered Feeder, and how though much has changed and grown over the years, their music has always been with us and will never fade away...Certainly not in our house!
Thank you guys🙂 (God bless the 90s!) @feederofficial @feeder.rocks @grantnicholas @taka_funkybottom #feeder #feeder21 #godblessthe90s
