✖️Are Weekends Ruining your Progress?✖️

Ah yes, the weekend – the magical time between Friday and Monday that’s filled with excitement and endless possibilities.

I hear it all of the time: “I was doing so well during the week but fell off hard during the weekend.”

Let’s face it, dieting can be hard, and people tend to think they can ease up on the gas pedal a bit and get your mind right before jumping back onto your diet on Monday.

During the week, you’re in a routine. It’s much easier to keep your diet in check as opposed to the weekend when the normal structure of life disappears and the likelihood of going HAM with your food intake increases.

The way a lot of people structure their diet is based entirely around cutting out all fun foods. That’s okay if it's how you roll.

But often, these people then BINGE on foods they blacklisted on the weekends, thinking they deserve so 'cause they didn’t eat them during the week.

So how does the weekend slow down fat loss?

Optimal scenario:
4 days with a 700 kcal deficite per day = -2800 kcal👉🏽fat loss
-
Friday night - Sunday cheating at 700 kcal surplus per day = 2100 kcal
-
-2800 kcal + 2100 kcal = -700 kcal total. This is a super slow fat loss. But it still is progress.

Real world:
During the week, you THINK you’re crushing it, but you’re secretly adding sauces/small snacks so you’re only in a 1500 kcal deficit by Friday night.

On the weekend, you don’t track and binge on your fave foods. You underestimate and cheat on a 1000 kcal surplus.
-
-1500 kcal + 3000 kcal = 1500 kcal SURPLUS for the week. You’re in a weight gain range.
-
#gnation, don’t be that dude. Don’t make the weekend the weak end of your awesome week. Those days still count, we’re in this lifestyle 24/7.
