Because is hump day! 🍑 Here is a workout that is sure to burn that booty! 🔥
1️⃣ Squats 5x8 (I use a wider stance and really focus on pushing through my heels with mind to muscle connection to feel it in seh bootay!)
2️⃣ Cable Pull Through / Hip Thrust 4x20-25 (I KNOW this workout feels awkward - but if you can bring yourself to do it, your booty will thank you!)
3️⃣ Banded Kickbacks 4x15 per leg (This one takes serious mind to muscle connection to get the most out of it. Really focus on flexing those glutes!)
4️⃣ Walking KB Crossover Lunge 4x20 steps -

Ankle, Hip, and Ass Warmup! #AHA!!!! Before you do any running🏃‍♀️, squatting🏋️‍♀️, jumping🤾‍♂️, hiking🧗‍♂️, or living🏗… this simple lunge warmup can get the legs primed♨️ for movement. Muscles perform better and produce more force when they are warm. If you just hop into a 1-rep max squat or run half a marathon and hardly warmed up your glutes, chances are that you won’t perform as well that day and you may increase 📈your risk of injury. .

Cues to look for in each of these lunges: The body stays square📦! Do not rotate🔄 the shoulders or pelvis. Make sure one side of the pelvis is not higher⬆️ or lower⬇️ than the other side. When stepping forward or backward, make sure BOTH knees make a 90 📐degree angle. When stepping to the side, make sure the knee stays over the foot and your heel stays down. Try to keep the feet pointed straight.↕️ If you cannot keep them straight, turn them out slightly, but work overtime to straighten your feet. .

Do this warmup barefoot or with “barefoot” shoes like the Vivobarefoot’s in the video! The force💪 you produce comes from the ground… if you have big, cushy, fabulous, egotistical shoes on👟, you can’t work your foot properly or feel the ground👣… thus you produce less force. Imagine being in space👩‍🚀… the only way you can move around and produce force is by coming in contact with another surface that you can push off of. The same thing happens in this situation. Shoes reduce that force. 📉#Physics🤓⚖️

My body clock has no concept of weekends!! Starting the day off with hip thrusts!

Weak Glutes...a common problem that causes muscle imbalances from back to hips and knees!
Glutes need reminding to activate so instead of heading for the bench for those FLYES and presses, try working with a Bosu or Swiss ball. This will keep you up in a bridge position, immediately activating the gluteal muscles. 🍑 .

First national show is in the books 🎉👙🌴 Out of 37 girls and 5 callouts I made 3rd callouts! Of courseeee I wanted top 5 but I knew going into the show that my physique is just not on that level yet. And that’s okay! However I’m so so proud of the changes I made for this show and everything I was able to accomplish this prep. Hopeful to still make top 15! I know what I need to work on this off season and have big plans for the future. Thank you to all my friend and family for the support and for everyone who reached out to me this past week! Just got back from sushi and wine with my girls @elle_bfitbody @empeachyfit and @erinmarrie_bakes but tomorrow is when the real eats begin 😈

[ WORKOUT PREP ]

Before your next workout give this dynamic warm up a try. In this video I’m using a weighted foam roller (ram roller) which works very well for this sequence. This warm-up is great for any workout whether it be full-body, upper body, and lower-body.

METHOD:
Complete 2-3 sets sequence in a Circuit fashion.

SEQUENCE:
🔘High Plank Drag/Lunge Reach x 3/3
🔘Half Kneel Palloff Press x 8/8
🔘Crawl/Bird Dog Pull x 6
🔘Bridge Marching/Pull Over x 6

For the crawl, drag the roller until it’s under your hips then do a bird dog (that counts as one rep) and repeat. Improve longevity and use this dynamic warm-up often. #bearcrawls #yogafit
