It’s dessert week on #GBBO tonight! Who needs to make gluten free desserts complicated though?
I made this delicious banoffee tart using @chefspromise gluten free shortcrust pastry mix which is so easy to use! I simply made the pastry base and baked it, left it to cool and filled it with my favourite banoffee filling! 🍌 Below is the recipe:
For the caramel I used:
75g dark brown soft sugar.
397g can of condensed milk.
In a non stick pan mix the butter and sugar together on a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.
Then add the condensed milk and bring to a rapid boil for around a minute, remembering to stir all the time for a golden thick caramel.
Spread it over the baked tart case.
Cool &chill, then place sliced bananas on the top.
Finally, lightly whip some whipping cream and place on top of the bananas.
Sprinkle with chocolate flakes if you wish.
