I've seen vids featuring the "face slimming tool" (which I call "blow up doll lips") & thought it’s important to share the good/bad & how to use it for best results.
I've researched facial yoga for a while, since I got the "BUD" 👄. This yoga says it will do for the face what it does for the body: relax, tone & smooth out tension. And like the principle behind botox (freezing muscles into a smooth state) this yoga promises to relax muscles & give a natural face lift.
Some plastic surgeons & dermatologists think that's nonsense & argue that wrinkles come from loss of elasticity in the skin, NOT muscles; & that repetitive movements will crease the skin & cause wrinkles.
I personally walk the line between Eastern & Western approaches bc there's good in both! So I believe in relaxing/toning the muscles, but being picky with the exercises.
Here’s my take on the "face slimming" trend:
1️⃣Apply serum & use a 3D massage roller, rolling UP the jawline toward the ears, then UPwards over the cheeks & forehead. 5-6 reps each, increasing blood & lymph circulation while promoting skin tightening & lifting.
If you look closely you can see a difference in the jawline. Treated side looks more lifted & although results are only temporary, I believe in the long term benefits of this tool & of course, using it as a quick fix before a big event.
2️⃣Next I use the 👄 bc they add tension. These 4 exercises I feel can strengthen muscles w/out causing premature wrinkles. I do 2-3 sets of 5 & when it comes to the forehead, I don't lift too high & while lifting I push the brows down against the lifting movement.
