A medium to short and slightly drying finish with aromas of honey, vanilla, butterscotch, tannins, pepper, red apple, citrus, apricot and subtle oak.
This whisky does not carry it’s age well. While tasting this blind this had quite an juvenile feel to it, in both smell and taste. The palate is on the watery side and does not really have an big body (which I tend to expect with older whisky). The finish is quite short. I expected this to be a young Lowlander. Guess my surprise when it was revealed this was an 30 year old highlander.
All in all not my style of whisky.
