I woke up at 12:30p today. On a Monday... ๐Ÿ˜‚ Rest is the main thing I've been focusing on this week so I haven't been sharing much, figured you deserved an update! ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿฝ

I'm walking around like a semi-normal human being now (cordless & bagless feels good) minus the fact that my guts are missing. I expected to get out of my second surgery, running laps and feeling like a million bucks. Instead, a little sadness rolled over me as I soaked in my new body and I may get a little too TMI here but I don't really care... It's been an adjustment to say the least. Food is running through my system just as fast as it was when it was going to thru bag and because I haven't "gone to the bathroom" in 2 months, it's been hard to get used to. I'm having to use muscles that I didn't use before and to be honest, I don't have a lot of control. A couple nights of no sleep because I was up every hour running to the bathroom, hit me hard. I found myself tearing up, and actually missing my bag (as crazy as that sounds). I would look down at my incision & get a knot in my stomach at the sight of this 4-inch gash that will forever be there.
Before I could get to sad, I'd stop myself. Slap myself out of it... I'm a fuxking WARRIOR. I don't get to feel bad for myself because there are people reading this who have it WAY worse than I do. There are people who need my smile & my positivity and it's SELFISH of me to not give that. .
So I snapped out of it. Choosing happiness and knowing that it will be okay. Everything will be okay and it just takes time.
Also, I've got a great tattoo idea to cover my scar when it heals. ๐Ÿ’•

Fitness update: I started working with my amazingly smart and talented friend Megan of @emboldenwellness about 3.5 months ago. I was frustrated and confused about what/when/how much to eat (with the ultimate goal of losing the rest of my baby weight, while still having the energy to crossfit 5x a week). I could have said screw it and just settled for where I was, but instead I asked for help - and if you know me, you know that I don't really like to do that. .

Anyway, Megan designed a plan for ME based on my body-type, goals, and lifestyle. I didn't try some trendy diet. There was no "21-day" fix/challenge/shred/whatever - thats supposed to make you magically drop 15lbs. I was given something sustainable. It just takes discipline (which is generally something I lack in the kitchen, but I'm turning 30 in 10 days and I need to grow up sometime). .

I also couldn't have achieved my goals without the programming at @crossfitroseburg either. Honestly it's the only workout I will ever do until I am too old, or I die. That's how much I love it and how much I believe in it. .

So, I leave you with my stats thus far...in 14 weeks I have lost 8.5lbs and 4 inches around my waist. I am SO close (1.5lbs) to being back to my pre-baby weight + I am more in shape than I've ever been!

So today was a crazy day and definitely not the best I've felt as a mom. The girls' moods were literally all over the place and I was just emotionally drained. I forced everyone into an early bedtime. It's ironic that the day that I accomplish something I'm really proud of is the day where I just literally am seconds away from breaking down in tears. If you know me, like from way back, then you know how much I hate exercise. I mean, I joined show choir because it counted for P.E. credit lol. I was always so skinny and never really needed it. Well fast forward to now and having two beautiful girls and after their pregnancies and pre-eclampsia I wasn't quite losing the baby weight. At my heaviest I gained close to 60lbs from the pregnancies. The past year has been rough, I've been at my lowest emotionally and struggled with loving myself, among other issues. I recently found @crossfit_90 and really found hope here. I'm now losing the weight but most importantly I'm feeling strong. I have a ways to go but I'm slowly progressing and so proud of what I've accomplished thus far, with the help of my awesome coaches of course. So here is my first personal record of 102 or was it 112? Lol it doesn't matter because that's way more than I ever thought I could deadlift anyway lol

10 lb power snatch PR @ 130! -
Workout tonight: "running randy" of 75 power snatches for time (if you drop you run a 200m run) and I didn't do as well as I wanted too but that's okay! Good days and bad days!

16 min cap for the workout and in remaining time we had to find a 1 rep power snatch. Pulled out 130 (my max full snatch) after missing it once. I finished the lift even tho I had to chase it a little! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

I'm thankful for so many things! I'm thankful that I have taken back my life, for my health, for my energy and for freedom! I know you might wonder what the last one means and after having several women reach out curious about the coaching aspect of what I do, I realized that I need to talk about what it has done for me!
.
When I started my journey with Beachbody it was simply to lose that baby (plus dessert๐Ÿ™ˆ) weight! Because I saw immediate results, I then felt obligated and enthusiastic about helping other women to get the same results that I did! I was also told I'd get a discount on all of my Beachbody products (I'm a sucker for a good deal๐Ÿ˜‰) and I thought maybe, just maybe it could assist me in paying for my shakes.

I was a BUSY mom of two (kids: 1 & 3), we were in the middle of remodeling a house, I was trying to get my own health in order and I was working full time as a teacher. I certainly wasn't looking to add more to my plate. However, this opportunity could NOT be ignored! I knew it could add so much value to my life and to the lives of others! So I jumped in! I said yes and I NEVER looked back!

Now I am the healthiest I've ever been, I've connected with women all over the U.S. and Canada, I've traveled to places I've never been and those trips are PAID for simply for helping others, I mean how cool is that?! I've been able to contribute to our family's income in ways that I never thought possible and all right out of the comfort of my own home, in the car or while running errands. I don't have to question buying something I want vs. need because we have the extra income. In fact, what I made just this week paid for our needs and a few wants!

If you're looking for something that will fulfill you, make you the best version of yourself, that will keep you accountable, and allow you to travel and meet new (like-minded) friends and will help you to help your family then I say why not?! Why not you? Why not now? .
