I believe in the power of women. I believe that the past is packed with women who pushed new truths and shook things up for the better *cue subtle #fridakahlo appearance* . But I also believe that the main obstacle in ensuring women are able to do amazing things is unequal access to education.👩🏻🏫 That is why I am chucking back on a school dress to complete a half marathon and raise enough to send 10 girls to school! ⚡️“Why girls?” I hear you ask. ⚡️ Well I’m glad you asked. . . . If all girls were educated 2 out of 3 child marriages would NOT happen. . . . If all girls were educated climate change could be addressed as educated women have fewer children . . . Children who have a literate mother are 50% more likely to survive past the age of 5 . . . 🙌Basically educating girls helps us solve the major challenges of the 21st century🙌 . If you would like to support me support girls please click the link in my bio to donate. . . . REMEMBER $300 = 12 brunches 🥞= 7 takeaways 🍛= a girls education, opportunity and freedom👧🏽 #onegirl#doitinadress#girlseducation#onegirlambassador#onegirl2018#educategirls#halfmarathon#doitinadress2018

Around the world, conflict is forcing record numbers of people from their homes, with over 65 million people now displaced. . .
Children are recruited by armed groups and used to fight. Women are abused and humiliated. As humanitarian workers deliver aid and medical workers provide for those in need, we are all too often targeted or treated as threats. . .
#Nigeria has not been able to keep up with the humanitarian crisis of providing for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and meeting their basic human needs. Women Impacting Nigeria is here to make a difference and to impact as many lives as possible. . . .
Support us as we help Improve the mental health and well-being of all women and children through counseling, education, and advocacy. .
Join the #NotATarget movement to demand that world leaders take action to protect all who are caught in conflict. . . .
Last week we took some of the outstanding girls in our education program on a field trip to the beach with Kurandza staff. Even though the beach is only about 90 minutes from the village where these girls live, it was the very first time to visit! One of my favorite parts of our program is the community we’re building around education— we’re showing these girls that education is fun. Can’t wait to bring education to even more girls next year! 💕

It was hard to pick one, but here is our favourite photo by our partner and photojournalist extraordinaire @stephsinclairpix on #worldphotoday. | Young girls sit inside a home outside of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. There is currently no legal age of marriage in Yemen. In 2009, a proposed bill to set the minimum age of marriage at 17 was rejected. The ongoing civil war has undermined any progress on the issue.
