On raising girls.
There is so much that goes into raising little girls in today's world and society.
I want them to have compassion, love, courage, wit, kindness, confidence and more.
🖍Confidence that they are beautiful. In today's world that is so sabotaged by the "standardized" beauty, I want each of them know how beautiful they are the way they are. I already note those "I wish my hair was curly", "I wish I was like ..." pop up every now and then, and I cut any doubt at the root. Seeing confident smiles spread across their faces when they realize that what they have is perfect, is priceless.
🖍Confidence that they can achieve all they dream about. There are different paths in life to take and I want to instill the knowledge in them that ANY path is possible and is great, if that's where their hearts lead them to.
🖍I want them to be compassionate and kind - any human needs those characteristics, but future women even more so then anyone else.
🖍I strive to make them be as literate and well-rounded when it comes to education, as I possibly can. Education is a golden key that unlocks many, if not all, doors. The key that will never get lost. The fulfillment that comes with it also helps to be a better mom and a companion, in my opinion.
🖍Courage - I want them to be brave too. To stand up to challenges when challenges come. As much as I wish I could protect them from all storms this lifetime brings, I understand that they, too, need to walk the path of difficulties to grow and become the best selves that they can be.
🖍Independence and happiness within:
I want them to be their own selves. To never worry about "trends" and "expectations" others/society have of women and to have a solid assurance that each of them IS enough on her own. I truly believe that happiness within one's heart is most important. There is nothing that can substitute for inner calm, peace and balance.
PS: so didn't plan on matching today, but so loving it that we happened to be! I'm sure that having ALL the family match would be sort of ... head-turning with the amount of people we have😹, but matching in print with the girls was so fun!
