Sub zero start this morning for my first ever 30km training road run!
Hungover, exhausted from 4 months relentless work, period, not enough fuel in my body last night or this morning and all my leggings in the wash.
Threw on some wool tights under my shorts which I hacked off with a Swiss army knife by 16km 🙈😂
The almond butter sachet an ultra athlete client gave me made my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth and incapable of breathing. 2 pate aux fruits in my pocket left me clawing on an already very empty tank 🤢
But... Realised I can run the length of the valley quicker than getting the local bus.
And realised that good friends seriously count when you are running on empty ❤
I owe a massive massage to my biking wingwoman who made me laugh to the point I got a stitch for 2km, got me to play "shag, marry or kill" by the 20km mark, going down rapidly, my pace seriously reduced and at the end told me after all that agony I'd run 30km in 2h50 with a bear hug and insisted on walking me a km home 😘
4 weeks to go, work needs to lighten up, I need to start fueling my body, I need to keep running and get through my slow paced physiological building 43km run with Mr almond butter athlete around Lake Annecy in 2 weeks!
I have taken the dog for a 5km walk and had a big nap.
Tomorrow I've given myself off to read those design magazines I bought a month ago 🙆♀️ Nobody said this was going to be easy!
