- 60ml @haymansgin London Dry Gin
- 15ml Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth
- 1 dash Orange Bitters

In April this year, Haymans Gin made a bold statement by starting a campaign called 'Let's Call Time On Fake Gin'.🍸 The aim? Creating a renewed awareness for consumers and brands about 'what true gin is' 💪 as demanded by global spirit regulations: 'a juniper-flavored spirit' with 'the taste being predominantly juniper'.🌿 The people at Hayman's saying it's time to go back to those rules, because with the gincraze still going fierce, many a product have been released that, in their eyes and following the regulations, should not carry the name 'gin'.🙅 The past few months, lots of brands and distillers have shown their support and in September there will be even held a Gin Debate in London.
This campaign comes at the time where just like in the rum circuit, consumers also want more transparency, clarity, honesty.💕 Something I wholeheartedly support myself. Does that mean there's no room for experimenting or for thinking outside the juniper-box? Absolutely not!👊 But when brands use the name 'Gin' because they dropped a Juniper Berry in their still and saw marketing-wise it's most interesting to call it a gin, then it's time for a reconsideration of how the rules are being bent.🤦 And I'm VERY interested in your opinions on this hot topic as well.
