Good Day Sunshine
I'm on travel to Connecticut for my primary employer, which I usually enjoy for the myriad photographic opportunities. As usual, I'm working night shift which I request because I'm able to catch morning light for a few hours before I head to bed, such as these early morning shafts through the trees at Gillette Castle a few years back.
Oddly, though, after the first week up here, I started losing the drive to get out and shoot as I usually do. Perhaps, it's because I'm finishing up my seventh consecutive week of shiftwork, and I'm just plain tired. Perhaps, it's because the fall colors were rather lackluster and short lived this year, while the little bit of wildlife that I have spotted has been unusually skittish and unapproachable. Or, perhaps, I just need a breakthrough of inspiration.
I have a little under a week left up here, and I'm halfway ready to pack up my gear early in anticipation of the flight home. Instead, now that the end of daylight savings time puts the sun a little higher for my after-shift time, I think that I'm going to try at least one more day at each of two of my three favorite locations up here.
Here's to hoping for some good day sunshine.
