@itsammara_ has been training for taekwondo since last one year during which she has participated in and won many competitions. Its very astonishing to know that she has achieved so many success in just one year and its amazing as well.
A student at RMIT, Ms Raja manages her time between studies, an internship, social activities and a demanding workout routine that sees her spending time in the gym as well as on the training mat.
She is 22 years old, She is a third year professional accountancy student at RMIT University in Melbourne, She work at a bank part time and she also train for Taekwondo 6 days a week and ofcourse she also compete. She is a lady by day and fighter by night.
She has always been very athletic, since childhood She has loved sports and have been involved in many different sports. She was born in Oman, I grew up in Melbourne. She has visited and lived in Pakistan for a few years. During her time in Pakistan she was also involved in many different sports namely badminton, footsul, basketball, handball and she also participated in the 2011 National Basketball championship in Lahore. She was in Pakistan between 2008-11. After that she moved back to Australia.
She started doing Taekwondo a year ago after wanting to do self defense. She has always been an advocate for women’s rights and very strongly feel women should be able to defend and protect themselves and that they should be self sufficient. She believed that self defense would definitely aid that and that being physically agile, strong and confident plays a major part in that. When she started Taekwondo she didn’t know anything about it, all I knew was that it was a martial art but I fell in love with the sport instantly, as soon as she started it and since that day she has been training very hard and she hasn’t looked back. She is glad that she got introduced to this sport, she don’t know what she would be doing if it wasn’t Taekwondo.
Taekwondo is a full contact body combative sport, and despite all the injuries and bruises it makes her feel alive and it gives her purpose. Before starting Taekwondo she always felt like she was lacking something in life and that ..(Cont....)
