Discover two continents, Europe and Africa, and meeting point of two seas, the Atlantic ocean and the mediterranean Sea, 412 meters above sea level. Welcome on the British exclave Gibraltar on the edge of south Spain. When the Romans came to Gibraltar, they considered the Rock to be one of the two Pillars of Hercules and they called this place "Non plus ultra", which means “there is nothing beyond” believing Gibraltar was where the world ended. Later in history Gibraltar and whole Andalusia was under Moorish control for several centuries. Because if the exposed location as entrance to the Mediterranean both Spain and Britain fought over for it for many years though it's only 6 square kilometers big. To get up on upper rock where to find a stalactite cave and of course it's famous apes jumping around free for e.g. you need to buy a cable car ticket that is about 19,50 EUR both ways. Don't forget your trainers as you can walk down the hill, too. The nature side is more than inviting to so. One last humorous legend: it's been told that as long as apes can be found in Gibraltar it will belong to Britain. So Winston Churchill came up with the idea to set free more apes on hill just to make sure. And a little info in the end: EURO's are accepted and given back. Right-hand-traffic is common.
