I’m refueling after a Fusion Barre class this morning. I always start my day with a glowing green smoothie. It’s always a mix of greens, lemon or lime, a little ginger, turmeric and fruit. I was fresh out of turmeric (I use it any chance I get). That’s why it’s not pictured here. Adding it to my @traderjoeslist now.
Starting my day off with this green elixir kick starts my digestive system and gives me tons of essential vitamins and nutrients without weighing me down. I add protein throughout the day, instead of starting off with a heavy protein smoothie. I’ve found it’s much easier on my digestive system and doesn’t have me cramping and bloating all morning like I used to with added protein powder.
I make a huge batch and save half for tomorrow. It’ll keep in the fridge overnight. Just shake and enjoy in the morning.
Here’s today’s version of my Glowing Green Smoothie:
24 oz water
1 whole organic Romaine heart
A few thin slices of ginger
Juice of 2 lemons
3/4 c frozen pineapple
1 orange peeled
