'I'm not a morning person'
Played on repeat in my subconscious mind.
I was the, wake up 5 minutes before I have to be somewhere kind of gal. Leaving me rushed, full of anxiety, and negative throughout my entire day.
Through self study, personal development books, and my virtual fitness family I came to the realization that -- what seemed to be a simple phrase was actually a self limiting belief and stunting my growth.
We develop these beliefs for our comfort. "What ever we've got to do to protect ourselves from change + the unknown, we will do." I've made a growing list of all my beliefs || good + bad || and will devote time to dig into each one.
Is this belief bringing me closer to my goals, dreams, or the person I want to become?
Is this belief pushing me to challenge myself and grow?
Is this belief holding me back in anyway?
After all, your thoughts become your reality so it's time we take them a little more seriously.

***WORTH THE READ*** At 22 years old, with no job & no real plan, I packed up my entire life into 2 suitcases and boarded a one way flight to San Diego, CA. So many people told me I shouldn't go, many tearful conversations telling me I was making a huge mistake and would lose all support. But I had something that all of my doubters could not see- an unshakeable belief in myself and the greater life that I was being called to live. I could see so clearly where God was leading me and who I was meant to become. And to this day, I am eternally grateful for this leap of faith I took- betting on myself & my intuition every step of the way. The personal growth I have experienced, the confidence I have gained, and the even more clearly defined path laid before me would have never happened had I chose to stay at home and play it safe. Life is not meant to be "safe." It's meant to be thrilling, and exciting, and fun, and adventurous, and at times, scary. Because that is how we grow. That is how we truly learn who we as individuals are. I grew up very safe & sheltered- and I am grateful for that every single day. I cannot say thank you enough for everything my parents have done to provide an amazing life for me while I was growing up. But I'll tell you all- it wasn't until I chose my own life, my own path, my own purpose that I felt like I was truly experiencing life for the first time. We are meant to be our own people, making our own claim in this world. Stop playing it safe because you are afraid of being alone or judged or broke or vulnerable. Jump. Take the leap of faith. It will be the best, most rewarding choice you ever make.

I've found the most joy on this platform when I decided to take down the walls, and start sharing the real raw mess that makes me ME. I've been wanting to share this for awhile, so here it goes.

Is it easier to be sad than happy? Idk about you but I feel like every other post I read on insta these days is either a) focused on the bad shit that's going on or complaining about how the world is going to end -or- b) sad about a comment he/she left on a photo and how rude/wrong it was.

There is SO much GOOD happening on this platform.
There are SO many humans connecting with one another, teaching each other, learning, inspiring, creating relationships. It's absolutely insane.
-
There's also a lot of shit that happens. Rude comments, negative messages, crazy people, judgmental people, the list goes on. I receive them on the daily.
-
However, I REFUSE to spend my time talking about, giving energy to, or even shedding the tiniest bit of light on the naysayers. What's the point? Honestly if everyone just took the time they waste getting upset about a rude comment or whatever, and instead focused on the 100+ positive comments I think we'd be a lot better off.

So yes, sometimes I think it's easier to be sad, because sad/upset gives us a reason to bitch about things and also do nothing about it.

Tom and I knocked it out for #strength25 #shiftshop and I pushed myself to push play after getting home at around 6pm and feeling tired from my long day, but I need to push through or I can see myself sliding back into complacency and couch potatoness!!! Anyone out there relate to me? Thank goodness I have a support system in place and I can lean on them when I need a push!
