A little over six months ago, a friend and I decided that our equal love and hate for social media needed to find it's balance. We loved the way social media brings people together and can inspire and push us, but we hated the way it gets our hearts to play the comparison game and how we can end up spending our hard earned free time just scrolling endlessly and wishing to be someone else. There had to be a balance. We decided to give up social media one day a week, completely. No Instagram, no Facebook, no Twitter. And it was FREEING. Until we slowly forgot about it, and I stopped doing it altogether. It was a beautiful, comparison free, self confidence building, productive 5 months. It's as if once you start to extend disciple one day a week, it makes you think twice every other day of the week when you start to drift a little too far out into the dangerous digital streams. So, I am proposing a new start, a new beginning to Media Free Mondays. And I'm just throwing it out there, if you want to participate, even just for one Monday, test the waters, I think it may do your soul good.
