❌WIDER GRIP=WIDER LATS?❌

💯Despite what many believe, taking an extremely wide grip on pull ups is not going to result in a wider back/lats. A wider back will result from the ability of performing a full range of motion, using an appropriate load, and progressing over time

🚫With the wide grip, you lose both range of motion, ability to use a heavier load, and total muscle activation. Isolation has its place in time but when using such a recruiting compound movement like a pull up, I don't see the sense in putting forth tons of effort to try and isolate one section of the lat. when in reality taking the normal grip, you recruit that section and the rest of the back

✅Taking the normal grip is not to mention safer as well. Taking the wide grip puts a ton of stress on your shoulders and that could explain why it's much harder to overload and become stronger

🔹️MUSCLES BEING TRAINED: BICEPS 🔹️THE BENEFITS: Doing CURLS this way challenges the BICEPS a whole lot more. You have to focus on BALANCING & STABILIZING the bar. This forces you to slow down the tempo to maintain control. This cuts out the swinging & momentum that's normally used in traditional curls. As a result, the BICEPS are forced to work harder. Try this exercise to help correct STRENGTH IMBALANCES & also to help create BALANCED DEVELOPMENT on both sides.

I did L-sits last night and that face pretty much sums up how I feel about them 🙄🙄🙄 But- they are SO GOOD for you!! Full core stabilization. Do more of these ab exercises and less of the crunches. Swipe right for some at-home modifications and things you can practice to get better at them! (Taking a rest day today so I'm restlesssss. But yes, take rest days people.) #

FOOD is so important to getting stronger, building muscles, and overall becoming healthier, in addition to building muscle through strength training. 👇

When I first started my journey, I just wanted abs. I look back and laugh that I didn't really think that much about gaining strength, and just did cardio all the freaking time because I thought I could burn fat and see muscles. It took me quite a while to figure out that the most important part is to get stronger and build muscles. I actually look leaner and stronger now after kicking up my calorie intake (with nutrient-rich healthy foods) and adding weights 2-3x per week!

Building muscles is like having a larger engine in a car, which burns more fuel faster. You might end up skinny with cardio, but it reduces both fat and muscle, thus burning less fat. Weights can also increase your metabolism, thus in the long run burning more calories with less effort.

This still remains true, so I hope if you're reading this while running on the treadmill for the 6th time this week, you make sure you ate enough today and pick up some weights! I'm sharing this because I don't want you guys to fall into the same cardio trap that I did!
