This is fantastic👊🏻 I come from a small town, the “god given talent” excuse is basically the town motto🤦🏻♂️. In fact any dream you have that isn’t “status quo” is quickly shot down with a statement that only the special people make it and chances are that’s not you.
My biggest take away from being around professional athletes and watching them work is exactly what this thing says...they work harder.
It was very clear to me, I didn’t work that hard, I never have, and that’s what separated professionals from the hobbyists.
These athletes are human, and aside from the very obvious O/D lineman, don’t look all that much different than anybody else at the gym.
But they have talent, they work extremely hard, and they maximize it. They didn’t just come out that way and boom...NFL. They work and work and work and work, and when the “make it” the work even harder.
That talent you have, athletic/art/music/gaming/etc....not going to make you succeed, but combine that with relentless passion and hard work, that 0% chance starts creeping up.
Don’t diminish other people’s hard work as “god given talent” and for f*cks sake do not use that phrase as an excuse as to why you can’t do something.
Most importantly...if I hear anybody say that dumb crap to a kid...🌀👟 to the dome piece. Consider this fair warning.

Musashi has been a constant source of inspiration for me for most of my life. The Book Of Five Rings is, in my opinion, one of the most valuable things anyone has ever written.
That last sentence is a dagger...
Thanks for making me aware of this gem @brian56cushing.
