I started a sketchbook a few months ago for just pencil drawings. I haven't been working in it lately, but when I do, I remember how much I love drawing. It's hard, no lie. It's not a skill I practice enough to feel confident in, but then I remind myself of that: it's just a skill I can LEARN. Like anything in life we have to try hard & practice to get better at it. I remind myself of this when I'm doing something that is hard or difficult. As I've gotten older, I've also gotten a lot better at being bad at things. I always wanted to be awesome the first time. And now I'm okay with not being awesome. I know now that's wildly unrealistic and that there is value in failure, and beauty in being challenged. What do you want to be better at? How can you work towards that dream?
