While out walking the dogs today, I spied with my little eye something that made me look twice. Or four times. Let's assume for a moment this is in honour of the zombie godfather, George Romero who was buried today. And while the dogs and I pondered what this was about, a woman in flowy clothing with raucously conflicting colours came over, saw it and asked, "is that supposed to mean anything?" Because of course I Know. It. All. Me and the dogs shrugged our shoulders and said we didn't know. Little dog Gia said she thought it was to keep Toronto weird. The woman said, "ya, maybe." And then she told us that she is an artist and has to move to the country because Toronto is too expensive for her now. "I've got the internet now so I can be anywhere." We nodded at her wisdom and she waved as she walked away. The dogs asked if we are gonna move to the country, or somewhere where hands don't stick out of the ground for no apparent reason. . . . . . . . . . #torontophoto#toronto#butisitart#whatyouseewalkingthedogs#intoronto#torontolife#zombie#doitfortheprocess#georgeromero#livinginthecity#6ixphotography#keepingtorontoweird#practiceeveryday
Night of the Living Dead is one of the most successful independent movies ever made. Made for $114,000 (equivalent to $798,000 in 2017), it grossed approximately $30 million (equivalent to $210 million in 2017) - over 263 times its budget. RIP George Romero.
