Tonight Cody whipped out this old-ass air popcorn maker, so instead of rice with my last meal I’m having 25g of carbs worth of this popcorn (it’s not terrible and curbs my craving for something crunchy.)
Now, a big part of fat loss is improving your body’s ability to partition nutrients. "Nutrient partitioning" is the process of your body deciding to use what you eat for energy, or store it as fat.
We eat carbs for energy, so ideally our body would take all the carbs we eat and shuttle them into our muscles to be used as glycogen, right? Well if you are insulin resistant, much of the carbs you eat will simply be converted and stored as fat. .
You can improve your insulin sensitivity through strength training, improving your sleep, reducing your intake of sugary or processed foods, and by supplementing properly.
A regular part of my regimen is GDA, which is intended to stabilize your blood sugar and assist your body in properly handling the carbs you eat by improving your ability to partition nutrients. Not only is nutrient partitioning important for fat loss, but it improves your athletic performance as well (more glycogen, more energy for lifting.) I personally take a couple prior to each of my carb meals.
Also, popcorn pro-tip... (because I am a popcorn PROFESSIONAL.) If you want it to taste fantastic then make it in the stovetop and put garlic herb butter on it.... neither of which I did tonight 😒
