Last month our Editor Gail welcomed us to her beautiful Dartmoor home for our annual summer wayzgoose. We swam in lakes, trudged up hills, took long baths, lay around reading under trees, and were treated to Gail's tremendous cooking, and honorary Fox David's dangerously good cocktails. With book-lined walls inside and a whole valley of wild flowers outside Gail and David's beautiful home, our go-to thank you present ideas were rather redundant. What to do? Well, No. 53 Hoxton Square has a modest kitchen, the foxes aren't entirely culinarily challenged, and Jennie keeps going on about a favourite new #cookbook by #rivercottage Head Chef @gill.meller . . . that was it! Jennie went off to find a copy of 'Gather', Anna procured supplies from @the_grocery_shop, Hattie was dispatched to @labourandwaitlondon for a couple of Kilner jars, Olivia sent encouraging messages from Northumberland and, in between answering emails, dashing for phones and wrestling with brown paper, we whipped up batches of 'Honey-roast seeds with chilli, thyme & rosemary' and 'Brown butter & poppy seed biscuits'. A modest amount of tasting followed, then into the jars and off down to Dartmoor they went, together with a copy of 'Gather' and an obscene amount of straw parcel stuffing. Present done! PS @gill.meller Many apologies for partially obscuring your good name with biscuits, our styling skills are somewhat amateur.
