So my tower garden initially began its journey outside but, after a week, we had to bring it in due to fear of night frost.
Things have been going SO well, I check in on the babies and measure their progress each day, making sure not to pluck things before they are totally ready. 🌱
This lettuce has been one of my favorites, SO lush and green but this morning I noticed a few tiny little holes amongst the leaves.
My immediate jump to horror amused the cats and Anne I'm sure but after a quick lookover and investigation of the other plants I realized I just had a very very tiny outbreak of Aphids. Quite common in outdoor gardens they are known for multiplying rather quickly and chomping up leaves. They won't harm the house was the good news, but they could jump to other plants or multiply if I didn't get this lettuce taken care of.
I searched my options and my two immediate choices were either infest my house with ladybug prey orrr wash the lettuce and make a salad 😄
Let's just hope I got the leaves good and clean otherwise I've officially become an #insectatarian ... #gardentales
