The week before Memorial Day is always crazy for designers. I'll be driving all over Westchester and Greenwich today, but all I can think about are pots of rounded boxwood and rosemary. How chic the De La Rentas were and forever are.
Planting Sweetcorn this evening. Although germination was poor I still have 12 good plants and they'll be planted in a block of 4 x 3 with plants spaced 18 inches (45cm) apart. Never plant Sweetcorn in single rows as they will cross pollinate much better when planted in a block pattern.
Good morning from @thelistbyhouseandgarden. It’s takeover Wednesday and today we are focusing on our favourite city gardens designed by members of our online directory, #TheList. Garden designer @butterwakefield has spent the past 18 years transforming her London house into a flower-filled slice of the country in the city. A patch of wildflower meadow runs through the lawn, with Geranium ‘Anne Thomson’, Salvia verticillata ‘Purple Rain’, and Alchemilla mollis and Nepeta sibirica ‘Souvenir d’André Chaudron’ near the house.
