Humble Garlic Harvest.
Often it's easier to focus on what DIDN'T go right, the crop that was a crappy size or the failed harvest. Our garlic this year has a bit of a story in that after lovingly preparing and planting it we were given our notice to move house. It was one of those moments as a gardener where everything else literally doesn't matter...the packing, the finding a new place etc. All I could think about when I heard the news was the garlic I had planted along with the intention it was guna be the best harvest ever!
So after pulling it up from it's soil nest, moving it to a friends garden, feeding the soil and plants as best we could, this is the result.
The pesimistic side of me could be gutted as it's not much to brag about, it got rust etc etc...but the louder, optimist side of me is actually super stoked to have a garlic harvest at all! Ok. So it won't last us the whole year, and most of the bulbs are small...BUT it is homegrown, as nutrient dense as we are gunna get and how lucky are we to live such a life where we can grow gardens! So there. Gratitude for all the garlic no matter how big or small is where it is at ♥
Also with the amaze shallot harvest to ride on we can be content knowing we aced that and perhaps this year the garlics time will come :-) Wishing you all a grateful hearted garlic year x
