Yesterday I went around west Dayton to all the groceries store I could find to assess what the produce situation was like. This experience was so eye opening, I have worked in this neighborhood for 6 years but have never walked in a “grocery store”. I was appalled and repulsed to say the least. The produce I found was very basic and definitely not fresh or even close to local. One store I stopped at only because it said produce on the sign, only to find potatoes and this rotten onion. Within this tiny part of West Dayton I also found plenty of land being used to grow food for animals. This small amount of land could easily feed this entire part of the city healthy, nutritious, and INEXPENSIVE food. WE AEW DOING THIS WRONG PEOPLE. WAKE UP!
P.s. but you can get a bong, can’t do that at #wholefoods lol
