Game # 3
Pandemic : The Cure
We are playing through our collection to try to play games we have forgotten about and haven't hit the table as often.
Tonight we played a game that my wife and I have a complicated relationship with. We love this game and yet it usually ends with us yelling at it for making us fail the human race. Was it different this time? Let's see
This game I played as the medic and my wife as the scientist. Right off the bat we were at a great start. The scientist was able treat and take 2 samples of the black die disease . Also we were able to score some + die for our CDC supply to use event cards. After the scientist took its 3rd black die sample , we were able to roll an 11 the exact number we needed to cure it ! We were doing amazing !!! But our victory was short as we rolled a few biohazards, which led to our first epidemic . Thankfully as the medic I was able to keep things under control with my triple treat dice roll ! I started focusing on the red disease die, gaining up to 3 samples, but I couldn't roll 13 or higher. Than I took a 4th sample still couldn't roll the 13 I needed . After the 4th roll I finally rolled higher than a 13. Then the scientist was able to gain a few samples of the yellow die curing it on her second try.
All we needed to win the game was to cure the blue disease.
The scientist grabbed 2 samples, I grabbed one and shared it with the scientist. Every region was being infected heavily, outbreaks were out of control, to the point where we had 7! This was it, the world was on the edge of destruction. It was the scientist turn, she was able to grab one more sample, and rolled all 4 die. This was it , many regions were on the brink of an outbreak. This was our last turn. She shook those 4 blue die and rolled them.
She rolled a 2 , 3, 2 , and +
A total of 7! We began losing it, we couldn't believe we lost the game again ! But alas hope, there was an event card that allowed us to reroll a dice when looking for a cure. We chose the + , meaning we needed to roll a 4 or higher to win. This was it ! She grabbed that die, shook them, and rolled a....
Yup that's about right
