Hi all- we are back to my regularly scheduled #unity3d #giveit100, and now we are working on physics! Today was colliders, which are invisible shapes attached to objects that let the game know (and do things with) objects that collide with it, usually by having them bump into each other.
You can also use it to trigger events to happen when something touches the object. Maybe your character jumps on a trampoline, and the trigger sends them hurtling towards the sky. Or a teleport pad sends you far away. Or the monster's cage opens when you wander too close. Or, as in this case, the floor simply changes color.
I apologize for using Howie Day's Collide in the making od this video. Actually, not sorry. It is the only time that song is relevant outside of nostalgic-over-relationship-that-failed-in-2003.
Also, I hope to not have another interruption in my schedule. Over a third of my way through this challenge!
