And here is a progress pic of "Frankie Stein" from Monster High! (©Mattel used with permission)
She has lovely pale green skin (Frankie of course is a Bride of Frankenstein/Frankenstein's Monster inspired character/doll from Mattel's Monster High collection) - I'll be painting some black stripes in her hair, some lightning crackling around her - she should be lovely!

I was invited to be a part of Mattel's "The Joys of Toys" event at Gallery 1988 West in Los Angeles. This is a special gallery event between Mattel and the Gallery to help raise funds for Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA (great cause!). Basically they have invited various artists (myself included) to create their own paintings inspired by the beloved toys and characters belonging to the Mattel company. How fun!

I am doing two original paintings, both with Mattel's "Monster High" theme! One is "Draculaura" and the other is "Frankie Stein".
Each of my paintings for the show is an 8x10" original acrylic on panel, they will each be framed in glossy ornate black frames (matching the Monster High aesthetic of course) measuring about 10x13" and will be priced at $2400 each. You may contact Amber at Gallery 1988 here: gallery1988west@gmail.com if you are interested in the original paintings!

The show opens June 23rd - the event is located at:

Gallery1988 (West), c/o Mattel, 7308 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046

There will also be prints of each painting. Only 30 of each will be made, limited edition glossy photo paper prints - signed & numbered by me - $25 each, these will be available ONLY through the gallery and their website (available items from the show will be on their website shortly after the event opening). I will not be able to sell these myself as they are part of Mattel & this special event.

Collectors who are interested in the originals please contact Amber at Gallery 1988 here: gallery1988west@gmail.com - and those interested in prints, either come to the show or check out the Gallery1988.com website soonthereafter!

Almost finished with "Draculaura" from Monster High! (©Mattel used with permission)
Just adding some final bits of highlights! Draculaura of course is a Vampire/Dracula inspired character/doll from Mattel's Monster High collection (hence the bats, coffin, fangs, etc.). I was invited to be a part of Mattel's "The Joys of Toys" event at Gallery 1988 West in Los Angeles. This is a special gallery event between Mattel and the Gallery to help raise funds for Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA (great cause!). Finally got this back from the framer! Freaking love it! Fantastic little Futurama print from @jbudich! Part of his more recent fictional food series where he takes food from TV and movies (obviously fictional) and makes some awesome prints of them. I'm a huge fan of both Futurama and @pabstblueribbon so this was a must! This picture doesn't really do the frame or the matt any real justice but it'll do. Check out his other work he's got some great stuff!
