ਲੱਟ ਪੱਟ ਫਰਰੇ ਸਜ ਰਹੇ ਗੁਰ ਸ਼ਬਦਨ ਕੀ ਭਈ ਝੰਕਾਰ ॥The Farlaas are flowing freely in the air while we tie them, and the ambrosial sounds of the Shabad Guru is heard ringing.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji has granted salvation to my whole lineage.

Salok Durmalleh Da.
The Farla is a 'Mobile Nishan Sahib' which is located on top of a Singh's Bunga. It was originally created as a Nishaan Sahib got damaged due to the enemy defeating the Nishanchi, so to prevent further Be-adbi to Satigur Jis Nishaan Sahib, the Farla was planted on the top of a Singhs Bunga, not only is this a sign of complete respect and homage but it enables the Singh to be blessed to be a Nishanchi and cut the Dusht's head open at the same time.
Moreover, in the battle field the Generals of the Fauj and fellow Nihang Singhs will know if a Mahakaal (Farla Dhari Singh) is alive in the bodily roop, by the farla; if its fluttering or not. From this they will know when they should send the next regiment of Khalsa Fauja into the battlefield.

What is shown above on the left is the Astbhuja Dujha, and on the right, the Durmalla Gajgah.
The Astbhuja Dujha is a Battle Standard and is Parkash Placed Straight, and Parkaash on top of a Nishaan Sahib. The Durmalla Gajagh on the right is Worn by Selected Singhs who have Agiya (Permission) It Musn't be tied on a Durmalla without Legitimate Agiya. Furthermore many Puratan Nihang Singhs have Earned the Seva to wear the Gajgah as can be seen in old Photos of Nihang Singhs.
The Astbhuja is Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Shastar which represent the Adi Shakti - Chandi in Kaljug as of their 8 Arms. The Astbhujavaa on the sides and above represent the arms. The Original Astbhuja Dujha which Akaali Baba Akalkalah Singh Ji brought from the aftermath of the battle ground brought it to Sri Hazoor Abchal Nagar Sahib, When Baba Ji brung it it was held with such respect as a Nishan sahib (Placed above, Straight Parkaash). Now this exact Shastar is kept at the Angitha Sahib at Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib and is Placed above parkash (Straight so all can see) when the Doors of the Angitha Sahib are opened.
Once again to conclude, the Astbhuja can't be worn or kept wothout Agiya. Anyone possessing a Astbhuja Dujha, or Durmalla Gajgah Shastar without Agiya is commiting Maha Paap as it requires Seva, Kamai and Agiya.

The history of the Ashtbhujha Dhujha, as I (Giani Partap Singh) have heard, is that in the old history, this Shaster is from Sri Guru Kalgidhar Patshah's (Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji) collection of arms. In the Battle of Chamkaur (December 6th, 1705), the Ashtbhujha Dhujha was left behind, and after some time, a Jatha of Singhs went back to Chamkaur Sahib and found the Ashtbhujha on the battlefield. The name of the Singh who found the Ashtbhujha was named Akalkalah Singh. Akalkalah Singh took the Ashtbhujha from the battlefield and placed the shaster on display on a elevated zone (for respect) at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib. From Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib, a Jatha of 30 Singhs left for Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib. Akalkalah Singh brought Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj's Gajgah to Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib, and used to carry the Ashtbhujha Dhujha just how a Nishan Sahib is carried. After Akalkalah Singh used to do this, the Singh's at Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib used to call Akalkalah Singh, "Gajgah Singh". Since then, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj's Gajgah which is also known as the Ashtbhujha, is now currently at Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib Ji. This concludes the history of how the Ashtbhujha Dhujha found it's way to Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib Ji.
